In 1911, Kansas became the first state to pass a law regulating the sale of investments. Other states eventually followed Kansas' lead by passing similar regulatory laws. State securities laws all pay a subtle tribute to Kansas history in their commonly known name, "Blue Sky Laws."

The Securities Division of the Kansas Department of Insurance was serves the public by the securities industry and  helping Kansans safeguard personal wealth from deceptive behavior.

Report Financial Exploitation

Beginning July 1, 2024, investment advisers and broker-dealers registered in Kansas are required to report suspected financial exploitation of older or vulnerable adults.
