A generic status can be found by vising https://nipr.com/licensing-center/apply-for-a-license/check-your-insurance-application-status . Once a decision has been made, or if additional information is needed, the Department will contact you by email, using the business email address provided in your application. If you have not received an email, your application status remains unchanged.
Please note that all applications and supporting documents are carefully reviewed, which may take some time. Applications are processed as quickly as possible in the order they are received and completed. Submitting multiple status inquiries may delay the review process.
How do I find my NPN?
Visit the SBS Lookup tool, select Kansas as the jurisdiction and then Licensee Search Type. A set of criteria pertinent to licensee data displays automatically below the Search Type dropdown box. Enter the known information for the licensee and click Search. For more search criteria, click the Advanced Criteria link at the bottom left-hand corner of this box. You are not required to enter values in all of the fields.
How do I print my license?
Visit SBS License Manager , set Jurisdiction to Kansas, and enter requested information to view your summary page. A print license icon will appear towards the top of the summary page.
How do I report criminal convictions, regulatory actions, terminations for cause, or actions in other states?
There are no limitations on retaking the exam; however, there is a seven-day waiting period before another exam attempt can be made.
How to add a line of authority?
Visit the NIPR website and select Start Now, then choose Individual and sign in.
Select Start and enter the following selections:
Producer Type: Producer Licensing
Application Type: Add Line of Authority
Residency Type: Resident or Non-Resident
Resident must have passed exam on file, when applicable.
Non-resident must hold the same line of authority in their home state.
Once the application is submitted, the Department will review and validate the request. If additional information is requested the Department will email a letter requesting additional information, once approved a separate email will be sent by NIPR, the Department will not send an approval email.
Important Tips and Reminders
A line of authority cannot be added on the same day a license is first made active, reinstated, or added to the home state license. You must wait until at least the next business day to submit the request.
Only NIPR transaction fees apply when adding a line of authority; there are no state fees. If any additional charges appear, do not submit the application.
Once submitted, the Department will review the request and verify that any required exam has been passed.
Fingerprints and other supporting documents not listed on the application are not required for adding a line of authority.
How to apply and submit a tax clearance certificate?
Upload the blue/white Certificate of Tax Clearance in PDF format to the National Insurance Producer Registry’s (NIPR) Attachments Warehouse at Attachment Warehouse | NIPR under the "ALD" Additional Licensing Documents section. Please note, it may take up to 24 hours after submitting your application to access the NIPR Attachments Warehouse
How to update contact information?
To update your contact information, visit www.nipr.com and select Start Now. Log in to your account, then choose Start and select Contact Change Request (CCR) through NIPR.
Any changes to contact information must be updated within 30 days.
